Rooney Replacements

With Rooney picking up a straight red card against West Ham GW6, he is now suspended for 3 Gameweeks.

REPLACEMENTSLooking for replacements, I have come up with 2 premium and 2 budget alternatives to the United captain.

Let's start with the premium options:

Sergio Aguero- The Argentine is one of the league's most lethal finisher, as has a really tasty fixture this weekend away to Aston Villa, who looked dire against Chelsea. His fixture congestion is something of a worry, as Pellegrini might save him for Champions League, but if given the minutes he is always lively and in the points. I wouldn't recommend him as a long term option, but could be a great placeholder for someone with better fixtures, like Sturridge.

Radamel Falcao- With two assists in his first two games for United, Falcao is starting to find his feet. Falcao is a decent short-term replacement, but I wouldn't want him after his next two gameweeks (EVE, wba), when he goes up against Chelsea, City and Arsenal in the span of 4 games. I expect him to do well in his next two, so if you're keen on a short term punt, Falcao is your guy.

Now let's look at the budget picks:

Danny Welbeck- Coming off a mid-week hattrick against Galatasaray, the Englishman is full of confidence. Playing up front for Arsenal with great playmakers in their team, he could become a top fantasy asset. Albeit his difficult fixture this weekend, Arsenal have great fixtures starting GW8. I think he will score very well from GW8 onward, and could be a bargain at 7.2m.

Graziano Pelle- Pelle started off slow but has now lit up the Premier League, scoring three goals in his last four appearances. Similar to Welbeck he has a tough game this weekend, but fixtures seem to get easier from thereon out. I expect both him and Welbeck to pick up similar returns, so I think they are both great options.
