CAPTAINCY CONTENDERS- This week we have another guest, as experienced FPL manager Philman71 gives his opinions on this week's top captaincy contenders, as well as clean sheet predictions and picks his XI to start this gameweek.
Let's start from the top:
Luis Suarez- "Suarez has finally ended the Suarez or Sturridge debate, with a long series of great points hauls. The rule "if in doubt, captain Suarez" firmly applies and he never really lets you down. Suarez is fixture proof and involved in everything 'Pool do. The option where you really can't go wrong, and the best choice if defending a mini-league lead." Some wise words from Philman backing Mr. Consistency as Suarez will try to add to his goal tally against West Ham this weekend.
Wayne Rooney- "With RVP out, Rooney continues to be a great captain choice, with pens and free kicks in his locker, and the central striker role. He is a decent alternative to Suarez given the opposition. Newcastle have shipped 7 goals without reply in their last two games." Philman backs Rooney to continue his good form as of late against a struggling Newcastle.
Eden Hazard- "Still the main threat for the virtual striker-less Chelsea, with pens also in his locker. Hazard is still showing the form he has all season, and will fancy his chances against a Stoke side that tend to concede regularly on the road." Hazard put on a great display against PSG and calmly tucked away a PK. Up against Stoke this weekend will put to the test if Hazard is in fact a "flat track bully".
Edin Dzeko- "Dzeko is the number 1 choice for an Aguero-less City side playing a 4-5-1 formation. Sometimes wasteful in front of goal, he still gets plenty of chances and could well score big against any opposition. A bit more of a punt, but one that could well reap rewards." Philman explains the risk of owning/ captaining Dzeko, and how on a good day Dzeko could grab a great score. He showed his potential in the Manchester derby, and is likely to lead the line once again this weekend, with Aguero ruled out.
CLEAN SHEET POTENTIAL- This week, Philman71 only fancies two clean sheets:
Norwich at home to WBA
Tottenham at home to Sunderland
